Where can I get technical support?

  • In person
    Students can get technical support from the Computing Help Desk located in Montpetit Hall, room 140. This service is offered by appointment only. Please go to the Help Desk in person to schedule an appointment or fill out the Computing Assistance Request form at http://www.ccs.uottawa.ca/cybersos/. If the problem is deemed to be hardware-related and the laptop is under warranty, the analyst will provide you with the appropriate information to have the computer repaired.

    1. By phone: 1-800-APL-CARE is available 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., 7 days/week. If the customer is within the first 90 days of purchase or has purchased the AppleCare Protection Plan, the call is free. It covers hardware and software troubleshooting and initial setup instructions for printers, Wifi, etc.
    2. Try the online resources at www.apple.ca/support for Apple product solutions, tutorials, and more.
    3. Contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider for Mac-related support and repair.
    4. Visit the Apple Store at the Rideau Centre (50 Rideau Street, Level 2, Section J). Appointments are required for technical support via the Genius Bar.
